About Me

Be The Change Consulting was born from my commitment to support women of color leaders  engaging in social change/social justice work in sustaining and self-actualizing their leadership. When women of color leaders are supported in reconnecting with their values, reclaiming their agency, and leading with authenticity, they strengthen their resilience and advance the collective liberation of the communities they serve.

I’m Ericka Echavarria, JD, LMSW—an educator, facilitator, and certified embodied leadership coach with nearly two decades of experience in advocacy and social justice. Raised in NYC as an Afro-Dominicana and child of immigrants, and trained in law and social work, I’ve navigated many systems—schools, mental health, foster care, legal systems, and higher education—while grappling with overwhelm, questions of belonging, and systemic barriers. Through my lineages of resistance, mindfulness practices, and embodied leadership coaching, I’ve learned to transform self-doubt and burnout into wisdom, resilience, and more sustainable ways of leading.

At Be The Change Consulting, I empower women of color in social justice spaces to lead with authenticity, courage, and alignment. My approach blends somatic and contemplative practices—storytelling, accountability, meditation, envisioning, and coaching—to help you reconnect with your values, reclaim your agency, and lead from your whole self.

I also design workshops and facilitation spaces that integrate mindfulness and contemplative practices to strengthen resilience and sustainability across social justice spaces. Becoming the change we wish to see in the world begins with transforming ourselves—letting go of limiting stories, cultivating intentional presence, and practicing leadership that honors dignity, values, and our vision of a just world.
